Moody's assigns Holcim Baa1 credit rating, outlook stable

May 30, 2008
Moody's, the international rating agency, has assigned construction materials Group Holcim a long-term credit rating of Baa1, outlook stable.

Deutsche Version

Moody's Investors Service (Moody's) based their assignment on the leading international market positions of the Group and the strong revenue contribution from all continents. Compared with the sector, Holcim disposes of an excellent geographic diversification with a strong presence in the emerging markets. This should enable Holcim to mitigate the cyclical demand for construction materials. In the past, the geographic diversification has contributed positively to the margin development of the Group.

Holcim welcomes Moody's grade decision. This rating complements the current and equivalent credit ratings of Standard & Poor's (BBB+, outlook stable) and Fitch (BBB+, outlook stable).
